Source data requirements
This section describes the minimum requirements for source data to ensure efficient and reliable upload into Omnibase. The content will be updated when recurring support questions require clarification.
Technical requirements – Point clouds
Point clouds must be uploaded in .las or .laz format.
Requirements:
- The file must comply with the LAS specification.
- A valid bounding box is mandatory:
- No points may exist outside the defined bounding box.
- The file must not be corrupt.
- Additional attributes and classifications must follow the LAS specification as defined in the LAS standard.
Technical requirements – Panorama images
Panorama images must be delivered as fully stitched 360-degree images, without residual lens distortion.
Accepted formats:
- .jpg
- .jpeg
- .png
In addition, for each panorama location:
- Adjusted position and orientation parameters must be provided at upload.
Linking is performed based on the filename:
- The image filename and the filename in the external orientation file must match exactly (1:1).
Technical requirements – Aerial images
Aerial images must be delivered without residual lens distortion.
Accepted formats:
- .jpg
- .jpeg
- .tif
- .tiff
For each image location, the following must be provided at upload:
- Adjusted position and orientation parameters
- Camera calibration parameters
Linking is based on filename:
- The image filename and the filename in the external orientation file must match exactly (1:1).
Technical requirements – 3D Tiles
3D models are supported in 3D Tiles format.
- Full support: 3D Tiles v1.0
- Limited support: 3D Tiles v1.1
- Supported bounding volume: Box
- Internal structure must comply with the 3D Tiles specification.
Currently supported:
- Rendering of 3D models via 3D Tiles standard.
- Not supported: point clouds stored within 3D Tiles format.
Coordinate reference systems
3D Tiles may be stored in:
- RD/NAP
- WGS84 (ECEF)
Important:
When exporting from processing software:
- If working in RD/NAP, ensure correct transformation from RD/NAP → WGS84 ECEF.
- The correct RD and NAP correction grids must be applied.
If a conversion fails or there is uncertainty regarding a dataset, please contact support.
We will assist in verifying or correcting the dataset.
